Google Refunding $19M to Parents

Facebook’s autoplay video feature is being blamed for boosting data plan bills over the limit. Consumer finance website, moneysavingexpert.com, first flagged the issue. Smart phone users are being advised to change the default setting in the Facebook app to ditch the auto streaming function.

Home Depot may have had all 22-hundred of its stores hit by a security breach. The retailer is still investigating the matter. But, a prominent security website warns this latest cyber attack could be the biggest yet.

And, Google will be refunding at least $19 million dollars to parents whose children made unauthorized purchases on apps. Google is now required to change its billing practices so that parents give consent before any purchases are made. Apple settled a separate case with the FTC, and is paying out at least $32.5 million dollars in refunds.
