MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – According to Mobile Police spokesperson, Ashley Rains, On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, a woman was found stabbed to death at her home in the Bayou Plaza Apartments by a maintenance employee.
Family members say she was a kind woman, who was always willing to give to the needy.
“She’s the family babysitter. The family cook. The family doctor. If anything goes wrong, she was there with her all purpose bag,” said Gardner’s grandson, Lonnie Campbell.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made which is something that outrages family members, who are looking for answers in her death.
“She did not deserve to be done the way that she was done. To whoever done it, you’s a coward and you don’t have no conscious,” said family member Jorinthian Sashner. “To sit there and do what you done and you can walk away from a scene like this, you’s a coward.”
If you know anything about this crime, call Mobile Police immediately.
