MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – An Oakleigh neighborhood was a dangerous place to be overnight last night.
Police responded to a robbery in the 200 block of Charles Street around midnight. The victim said the incident happened as he exited his vehicle at his home. He told police, the robber pulled a gun on him and demanded money.
While responding to that call, police were advised of another robbery, this time at the intersection of Charleston and Marine Street. Two individuals were approached, also at gun point and that robber demanded money as well.
On Thursday, police arrested 20-year-old Justin Phillips in both incidents. Phillips says he’s innocent.
“I’m honestly an innocent man. I will take a lie detector test or whatever the case,” Phillips said.
Online records from the Mobile County Metro Jail show no previous arrests of Phillips.
