GRAND BAY, Ala. (WALA) – Organizers of a Bar-be-Que dinner in Grand Bay Saturday told Fox10 News the event went very well, a lot of money was raised, and their hoping, one day, that money will help them have a library in their community.
Aleta Boudreaux sent us this photograph of the task ahead.
Citizens for a Better Grand Bay hope to rehabilitate and renovate the historic Grand Bay State Bank Building turning it into a branch of the Mobile Public Library.
It would also house an agriculture museum.
Boudreaux said the building is located in the heart of the Grand Bay historic district and is a focal point for a project that includes a library, a visitor’s center and a community park.
Saturday’s supper featuring Bar-be-Que and southern cooking was held at the Grand Bay Senior & Community Center that afternoon and evening.
