MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Sweat was rolling down construction worker’s faces Friday, August 22 with temperatures well into the 90s.
One crew had a hot job working with tar to patch holes in the road.
“We’re just trying to keep everyone cool, hydrated and a good body temperature so they don’t pass out,” said Ricky Stoudemire.
John Taylor said he’s used to the hot temperatures after working in the business for 12 years, but others said they aren’t ready for this kind of heat.
“You don’t adapt to it. You just do what you can,” Johnny Clem said.
“It makes nuns swear. It’s getting ridiculous,” one man said.
Others were cheering on the fall weather, encouraging cooler October like temperatures.
