Gmail for Kids Under 13

Google wants kids under 13 to have their own Gmail accounts. Right now, internet companies like Google and Facebook don’t offer their services to children under 13, even though some get accounts anyway by lying about their age. The accounts for kids would reportedly include a special dashboard that lets parents monitor their kids online activities. Some privacy organizations believe Google wants to bring the kids into its marketing and profiling business.

And some of you may not like this: Twitter is mixing up the content you see on your timeline. Now, you could start seeing tweets from accounts you don’t even follow. The company says quote “We select each tweet using a variety of signals, including how popular it is, and how people in your network are interacting with it. Our goal is to make your home timeline even more relevant and interesting.” You’ll still see those occasional promotional ads in your timeline.

That’s your Daily Tech.
