After a successful debut in Mobile last summer, the Reese’s Senior Bowl is bringing its women’s football clinic, ‘Girls of Fall: Football, Fashion and Fun,’ back for a second year.
The event, presented by Regions and designed solely for female football fans, will be at the Mobile Convention Center on Thursday, August 21 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
“This is for the wife or girlfriend who wants to learn more about the game,” said Reese’s Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage. “At the same time, it’s for the mom whose kid is playing youth football or high school football, and she wants to know more about it.”
Attendees will enjoy food and drinks while rotating through five different 20-minute periods: X’s and O’s with Savage, a former coach, scout and NFL general manager; rules of the game with an SEC official; party/tailgating tips with ‘Panini’ Pete Blohme; a high-end fall fashion show; and they’ll get a period to enjoy the food, drinks and shopping at booths featuring local vendors.
“It was a huge hit in Mobile last year,” Savage said, noting that nearly 400 women enjoyed the inaugural event. “We expect this year’s event to be bigger and better.”
Tickets for the event cost $25 and can be purchased at seniorbowl.com , at the Reese’s Senior Bowl headquarters located at 151 Dauphin St., or on the day of the event at the Convention Center.
