DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) – Baldwin County Health Department officials are notifying Daphne residents that a sewage spill has occurred in Tiawassee Creek.
“According to a report received by the health department, the spill resulted in approximately 3500 gallons of sewage being discharged into Tiawasee Creek,” writes Teddy King, in an email to FOX10 News on Saturday. “The Health Department urges residents to exercise caution using this water body for recreational purposes.”
King said that any fish or seafood caught in or near Tiawassee Creek should be thoroughly cooked and hands should be washed after handling fish and seafood. King said for more information contact Daphne Utilities at 251-626-2628.
The Baldwin County Health Department did not release information as to the cause of the sewage spill.
