Mobile Fire-Rescue captain fired, city will not release name

Director cites "conduct unbecoming" as reason behind firing

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A Mobile Fire-Rescue captain no longer has a job. FOX10 News got a tip that a captain was fired, so we did some digging.

After receiving a tip, FOX10 News called Executive Director of Public Safety Richard Landolt. He confirmed he indeed fired a captain.

That’s all the information he will release for now.

“I can’t go much into detail because this person is allowed due process under the appeal process with the personnel board. But I can’t say it was what I would call conduct unbecoming. But that’s as far as can go,” he said.

The appeal date is set for next month. FOX10 News will be there and tell you what happens.
