MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – People gathered in downtown Mobile Thursday, August 14 to rally for peace in Israel. It happened at noon in Cathedral Square.
The rally was organized by Pastor Red Wolfe of Luke 4:18 Fellowship. he said he went out into the community to get people of all faiths involved.
“We all have the same love for Israel and we all believe that God’s plan involves Israel in a mighty way. And so we came together to say to Israel, ‘We love you, we will pray for you and we will stand for you,'” said Pastor Wolfe.
Right now, ceasefire negotiations are underway in Gaza. Talks are being mediated by Egypt.
Hamas said 1,900 Palestinians have been killed since fighting began, most of them civilians.
Israel has lost 64 soldiers and three civilians.
