MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Saenger Theatre officials have some good news for the City of Mobile, and a new plan for patrons.
Saenger officials announced Tuesday afternoon that, after going through rough economic times in the past, they’re seeing green.
They said revenue is up and expenses are down.
Sam Voisin with SMG Management said, “The revenue is right around $84,000 better than we thought it would be. And, of course, that’s directly due to the revenue side of the event mix activities. And, then the expense side of things: efficient management of those resources. We’re about $40,000 less than we anticipated.”
Saenger officials also announced they are re-starting the “Friends of the Saenger Theater” fundraising program.
Members of the program can buy tickets in advance.
Among the shows scheduled for the rest of the year are Lyle Lovett and Trace Adkins.
