MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The new general manager of the Mobile BayBears is no stranger to the club or the Gulf Coast.
Chris Morgan had been with the baseball team in the late 90s and spent more than 16 years as the Director of Game Operations for the Senior Bowl.
He told FOX10 News he wants to apply some of the same ideas used by the Senior Bowl for the benefit of the BayBears.
“Getting back into schools, churches, just different groups, spreading the word about the BayBears. To me, word of mouth marketing is the best marketing out there, and if we can get out in front of a a lot of different groups, and just kind of get the domino effect going, I feel like we can be successful”, Morgan said.
He has his work cut out for him. The BayBears have the second worst attendance in the Southern League in 2014. The Blue Wahoos in Pensacola have the second best.
