MOBILE, Ala. -(WALA) Amazon is making it easy to donate to your favorite charity. Customers shop and Amazon gives…that’s the gist of AmazonSmile. It’s a website operated by Amazon.com that will donate a percentage of a customers purchase to a charitable organization when they shop.
The website looks exactly like Amazon.com. It has the same selection, prices and shopping experience. But when customers first log onto AmazonSmile they will be prompted to select a charity of their choice.
There are several spotlight charities to choose from including, The Wounded Warrior, or St. Jude non-profit organizations. Shoppers can also search for specific charities in the area like, the Mobile Symphony, Mobile Baykeepers, or University of Mobile.
Once you find your charity, press select and from there 0.5% of your purchase will be made to the designated organization. Your donation may be considered tax-deductible too!
