MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – It’s safe to say the Child Advocacy Center wouldn’t be able to serve as many children as it does today without the help of some of its founders.
One of those founders was the late Audrey Wilhelm-Buttell.
On Monday, August 4, her family presented a plaque to the Child Advocacy Center to commemorate her role as an original board member, and later as the first therapist who served as director of the Rape Crisis Center.
“This plaque will be a forever reminder of how dedicated she was to this place, how she became to become a part of it and it a part of her,” said Ron Wilhelm.
In addition to her family, representatives of the center and its eight partner agencies were also present.
