VANCE, Ala. (AP) – Alabama Department of Public Safety officials say state troopers will ride along with a commercial driver to crack down on unsafe drivers.

Officials say the ride along on Tuesday is part of the Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks – or TACT – program. The ride along is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon.

Officials say the TACT program is meant to reduce fatalities and injuries that are linked to unsafe driving behavior including unsafe lane changes, tailgating, failure to use signals, speeding, failure to yield and more.

The ride along is set for a stretch of Interstate 20/59 near Vance, and organizers says troopers will conduct other TACT enforcement programs in the area during the rest of the week.
