HOUSTON (CNN/KHOU) – A 90-year-old grandma, armed with a 12-gauge shotgun, held off a SWAT team for hours before surrendering.
The woman, identified as Eleouise Adcock, sat on her porch, holding the gun.
The officers were responding to a 911 call from the construction workers next door, who told them she threatened them with the gun.
Police said Adcock was upset the workers were loading dirt onto a barge behind her home. A marine towing company has purchased the land around Adcock’s house.
One neighbor said Adcock is the last holdout, refusing to see her property. They said she is irritated by the company’s repeated attempts to buy it.
A negotiator talked the grandma into surrendering. She was escorted by paramedics for an evaluation.
No charges are expected.
