Commissioners put off vote on spending more on Government Plaza repairs

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The Mobile County Commission put off the vote Monday, July 28 for spending more money on repairs to Government Plaza.

Commissioners said they want to put off the vote for one week until they can talk to the engineers about details.

In February, the commission approved a $3 million contract to fix the roof. That included removing the skylights, replacing the decking and fixing any leaks.

However, it looks like it is going to cost more money and more time to repair the problem. Engineers said there is a big drain pipe that needs to be repaired.
