PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) – Two Heisman Trophy winners made an appearance at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium Wednesday night for Faith Night.

Danny Wuerfull, Florida’s 1996 Heisman Trophy winner, and FSU’ 1993 winner Charlie Ward threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

“I was born in Pensacola and went to high school in Fort Walton. So the Gulf Coast is home for me and so it’s great to be back in great to be here so excited. So excited to see the success of the Wahoo’s program and all the things that have happened. So it’s fun for me and my family,” said Wuerfull.

“Is my first time ever throwing out a first pitch at a game, high school, college, or professional so I’m grateful it’s a great experience,” and Ward.

The two men were in attendance in conjunction with Faith Night.
