According to authorities, deputies responded to a water rescue in Miramar Beach around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 19.
Authorities said, 45-year-old Donato Rios of Texas, was reported drowning in the gulf near Monaco Street. They said that’s when a “good Samaritan” pulled him to shore and an off duty paramedic along with two deputies (one being a medic on the WCSO SWAT Team), took turns giving Rios CPR until EMS arrived.
According to authorities, Rios’ pulse was subsequently detected at the scene and he was transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital in Walton County. Rios is currently listed in critical condition
