MPD: ‘Marijuana garden’ found in midtown

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA)—Mobile Police were called to a midtown neighborhood after a landlord noticed marijuana plants in his tenant’s garden, officials say.

Police say officers checked the garden on Upham Street and discovered around 20 plants outside the residence and another 19 inside a storage area. The plants had a combined weight of  2.8 pounds.

Peter Hughes was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana.
