DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (WALA) – The rodeo is a fun event for the whole family, even if you’re not interested in fishing the tournament.
The rodeo has brought in local vendors from all across the Gulf Coast.
One art vendor told FOX10 the rainy weather didn’t hurt today’s business.
“It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s raining or not, people are coming out in parkas and umbrellas, and they’re still here,” said Tammy Derwick, an art vendor at the rodeo.
Locals said they’re glad the rodeo brings in the vendors to help attract more crowds to the island.
“I think these vendors that come here really make it even more fun and make people want to come back even more and more,” said Rhonda Frost, a Dauphin Island resident.
There’s also a music festival on Dapuhin Island to go along with rodeo weekend.
Folks can check out live music concerts at several local venues on the island, including the rodeo headquarters.
