Governor appoints Elliott to Dist. 2 commission seat

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – Alabama Governor Robert Bentley has appointed Chris Elliott to the Baldwin County District 2 County Commission seat.

Elliott beat out Bob James for the seat in the runoff primary election on Tuesday, July 15.

Two days later, James announced his resignation, and did not attend the commission meeting.

“Respecting the wishes of the citizens as expressed this July 15, 2014 in the primary runoff election and their desire to move the county ahead, effective immediately I resign the office of County Commissioner District 2, Baldwin County Commission,” Baldwin County Administrator, David Brewer read from the letter.
