PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) – Prichard Mayor Troy Ephriam said he’s pleased with the work being done so far by his interim police chief.
Ephriam appointed former Bay Minette Police Chief Mike Rowland as interim police chief July 3.
The mayor said Rowland is getting familiar with high crime areas.
Ephriam said, “He’s already, basically, trying to determine where we need to do some additional hot spots. He’s riding the community. He’s identified some areas where he knows we’ve got some problems. So, coming this weekend, we expect him to be out full blast addressing some of our crime hot spots, as well as taking down some of these structures that harbor criminal negligence.”
Rowland was named to replace Jerry Speziale, who resigned earlier in July.
