MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – The funeral for a mother who was stabbed, then her apartment was set on fire, was held Saturday, July 12. Mobile Police say Satori Richardson was murdered by her boyfriend, Jamal Jackson, who is currently in the Santa Rosa County Jail awaiting extradition.
On the morning of July 4, Mobile Fire-Rescue firefighters were called to the Chaumont Apartments on Navco Road for a report of an apartment fire. When the fire was extinguished, fire officials say they found Richardson suffering from stab wounds. Investigators say she died at the hospital.
Jackson was arrested by Gulf Breeze Police a few hours after Richardson was found in the burning apartment.
Richardson was the mother of two children, a six year-old boy and a four-year old girl.
According to investigators, Richardson’s daughter was inside the apartment at the time of the murder and fire. Investigators say the child ran to a relative’s home to alert them to the blaze and to say her mom had been stabbed.
Relatives say Jackson was a boyfriend of the murder victim.
