FHP looking for hit and run driver

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) – The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for the driver who struck and critically injured a 59 year-old man Friday, July 11 around 9:30 p.m.

Investigators say Roy Reasoonover was trying to cross Mobile Highway, south of Edison Drive, in Pensacola when a sport utility vehicle hit him.

Highway Patrol officials say Reasoonover was dragged twenty-one feet. The driver fled the scene of the accident leaving the critically injured pedestrian lying in the road.

Investigators say they are looking for a sport utility vehicle “of some type” that was last seen traveling east on Edison Drive.

Investigators say the vehicle should have front end damage “consistent with a pedestrian collision.”
