Many pay respects to Reverend Kenny Davis

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Many people came out to the Nazaree Full Gospel Church Saturday morning, July 12 to pay their respects to Reverend Kenny Davis.

Davis, affectionately called Brother Kenny, passed away Tuesday, July 1 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was recovering from heart surgery from the day before.

Davis served as a full time chaplain at Mobile Metro Jail for 10 years. He was an associate pastor at Showers of Blessings Church in Prichard.

He was known as a giving and loving man, devoted to his ministries. Davis also did baptisms, spiritual counseling, drug and alcohol interventions and mentoring.

He was seen taking food to local homeless people just days before his surgery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be dropped off at the Metro Jail chaplain’s office.
