MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Some local officials are gearing up for a trip across the pond. It’s time again for the Farnborough International Airshow.
The show, just outside of London, will include numerous aerospace suppliers, some of whom will be looking hard at locating in Mobile to take advantage of the new Airbus assembly plant.
Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson leaves Thursday, July 10. He said time is ticking to attract more businesses.
He told us, “The closer we get to the first plane taking off then there’s heightened interest. These suppliers are going to have to make a decision pretty soon about whether they’re going to relocate to Mobile.”
Numerous officials from other cities in Alabama as well as Northwest Florida and Coastal Mississippi will also be at the airshow making pitches to the various suppliers.
