Flomaton PD: Car burglarized during funeral

FLOMATON, Ala. (WALA) – The Flomaton Police Department is looking for a suspect they say burglarized a vehicle while the victim was at a funeral.

Police say the victim was at the Little Escambia Church on Highway 113 when the suspect allegedly broke into her vehicle and stole her purse. They say the crime took place Sunday, July 6 between 3 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.

Officials say the suspect then took the victim’s debit and credit cards at stores in Flomaton and Escambia County, Florida, along Highway 29 in Molino and Cantonment.

Surveillance video captured the suspect entering two different businesses.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 6’0 in height, wearing khaki pants, a red polo style shirt (which was untucked), black sunglasses, a gold color watch on his left wrist and a red hat with the letter P on it. Authorities believe this hat to be a Philadelphia Phillies baseball style hat.
