You love fashion, and the feeling you get when you help others, right? Well get ready for a fashion show to benefit McKemie Place, a shelter for homeless women in Mobile, Baldwin and Washington counties.
For some women at the shelter, a sudden loss of income leads to an eviction notice. Others are escaping an abusive relationship, and others are trapped in a struggle with drugs. But when single, homeless women have nowhere else to turn, McKemie Place is there to provide meals, a bed to sleep in and a safe shelter.
Kymberly Soule, founder of Exalte’ Magazine, organized a fashion show to benefit McKemie Place. It’s called “Models, Merlot and Mckemie Place,” and it’s happening Tuesday, July 8 at Legacy Bar and Grill. Doors open at 6:00pm, and the show starts at 6:45. Light appetizers will be served, and there will also be a wine tasting and a silent auction. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at the door.
