Gulf Breeze Police confirm to FOX10News that 23-year-old Jamal Jackson of Mobile was arrested and that a Mobile Police Department warrant for his arrest was served to Jackson at the Santa Rosa County Jail this weekend.
Early on the morning of July 4, Satori Richardson was found stabbed inside her burning apartment at the Chaumont Apartments on Navco Road.
Mobile police investigators said once the fire was out, they found a woman in a room suffering from stab wounds. Family members said Richardson was rushed to the hospital where she died. She was the mother of two small children.
Several hours later, Gulf Breeze Police arrested Jamal Jackson on several charges: moving traffic violation, flee/elude police, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
Arresting Police Officer Lanzetta, with the Gulf Breeze Police Department, told FOX10News, Jackson was taken into custody around 7:00 a.m. Friday.
In addition to the current Florida charges, Officer Lanzetta said there were “other things” which raised suspicion about Jackson, but he could not say anything further about the arrest.
Gulf Breeze Police said they were contacted by Mobile Police a short time later. Jamal Jackson remains in the Santa Rosa County Jail under a $27,000 bond.
