PPD investigate shooting, beating of teens

Pensacola Police are investigating the shooting of a 16 year-old male and the beating of a 15 year-old male.

Police investigators say the shooting happened early this morning at a large gathering at an American Legion Post #33 on West Intendencia Street.

Investigators say the facility had approximately 300 people standing outside.  Police say they were called to the American Legion around 1:30 a.m..

“Police were dispatched to the post after a large fight was reported,” said Cindy West with the Pensacola Police Department.  ” During the incident, a 16 year-old male was shot in his upper torso.  He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.”

Investigators also say they found a 15 year-old male unconscious in a parking lot, the result, say police, of a beating.  He too, was taken to the hospital.
