Friday night fireworks and the safety of the thousands who flocked to the beach to enjoy the Fourth of July were not the only things Gulf Shores and Orange Beach firefighters had to worry about last night and this morning.
According to the Gulf Shores Fire & Rescue Facebook page, firefighters were busy putting out grass fires apparently ignited by someone shooting fireworks along Little Lagoon and on Fort Morgan Road.
FOX10ews viewers sent us photos and video of the fires which lit up the night sky. Firefighters warn everyone of the dangers fireworks can cause and say if you want to see the pretty lights in the sky, then stick with professional fireworks displays.
Orange Beach Fire & Rescue investigators meanwhile are looking for the person who allegedly set off fireworks in a trash shoot of the Phoenix III condominiums Saturday morning..
According to the City of Orange Beach Fire Department’s Facebook page, it was just after midnight when firefighters responded to an alarm at the condo.
According to their information, crews found a fire in the trash shoot in one of the upper floors of the building. If you have information about this fire, you are asked to call investigators at 251-981-1535.
