Lots of you will be grilling out today, but some new tech devices are making the typical July 4th barbeque a whole new experience. Joe Fletcher from Verizon Wireless stopped by our studio to show off some of those gadgets for a 21st century barbeque.
The most important part of any barbeque is food, and there’s an app that can help with grilling. It’s the Weber’s on the Grill app for iPhone, iPad, and Android. The app features 280 recipes, and 40 recipes for rubs, marinades, and sauces. You can tag your favorite recipes, share grocery lists, and email your favorite recipes to friends and family.
What if you want to listen to some music while you barbeque? The Bose Soundlink Bluetooth III will wirelessly stream music from your smart phone to booming speakers. It lasts up to 14 hours, and is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand while grilling.
At most all barbeques, someone wants to turn on a ball game. The Belkin’s @TV Plus device lets you take the game poolside. Use it to wirelessly watch TV on a smart phone or tablet through your home’s wifi network.
And one of the best parts of any barbeque is getting in the pool. The Lifeproof water proof case for iPhone 5 can snap photos of all your underwater fun. The GoPro camera is another option if you need something water-proof. Use it to capture high definition video any time.
You can pick up the gadgets at any Verizon Wireless store. Download the app in the app store. Verizon Wireless will be open from 10am – 6pm for the 4th of July.
