Lagniappe: What’s Happening 4th of July 2014 Edition

The folks from the Lagniappe joined us on Studio10 with a special 4th of July weekend “What’s Happening”!

The information below was provided by the Lagniappe: 

Here’s the rundown on all the fireworks for tomorrow night and even Saturday night, celebrating Independence Day:

*The big show in downtown Mobile will be at Cooper Riverside Park, and also viewable from USS Alabama Memorial Park on the Causeway where the Mobile Pops will perform beginning at 7 p.m. Field parking begins at 4 p.m. The fireworks are at 9 p.m.

*Down on Dauphin Island the place to be is the public beach at 1501 Bienville Blvd. The fireworks begin at 9 p.m. It’s $5 to park before 9 p.m.

*Over on the Eastern Shore the rockets’ red glare takes place in Trione Park on Whispering Pines Road in Daphne. This celebration also features inflatable water slides, hot dogs, lemonade and more. Lawnchairs and swimsuits are permitted.

*In Fairhope it’s the Municipal Pier and Henry George Park at Fairhope Avenue and Scenic 98. The Baldwin Pops Band Independence Day concert will begin at 7:30 and the first shot is fired at 9.

*The Gulf Shores Public Beach is the spot for fireworks at 9 too, but the evening kicks off at 6 with carnival-style activities, such as face painting, balloon artists and music.

*The BayBears are taking on the Pensacola Wahoos tomorrow night at 7 p.m. and you can also catch fireworks at the game’s end.

*In Pensacola, fireworks start at 8:30 over Santa Rosa Sound, just offshore from Quietwater Beach. The best viewing spots ate Portofino Boardwalk or Quietwater Beach.

*But if you’re too busy to see fireworks on the Fourth or just can’t get enough pyrotechnics, Heron Lakes Country Club in Mobile is holding their fire until Saturday night at 9. Part of the Lagniappe Firecracker Golf Tournament, it’s a big weekend out there.
