The annual Grand Bay Watermelon Festival kicked off July 3 at 3 p.m. Gates will be open until 7 p.m Thursday night.
The event is held at Festival Park off Highway 90 in Grand Bay.
Attractions include a petting zoo, train and pony rides, face painting, moon walks and arts and crafts.
Free cold watermelon is also available.
The gates will open 8 a.m. Independence Day and stay open until 4 p.m.
On July 4th parking is $5 per vehicle.
Several food booths will be open and the Shine and Show car show will kick off July 4th.
