Chances are by now you have heard of this new found fashion that is making national news. Duck Tape’s annual Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest offers high school students the chance to win their share of over $50,000 by making their formal attire out of the tacky tape.
Tacky Jacks in Gulf Shores is hosting a huge “Ductstravaganza” Duct Tape Party on July 3 at the waterfront venue. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. for all ages and is free for the public to attend. Chloe Guy, a local student in the Top 10 from Navarre, FL will have the couples 1920’s inspired flapper and gangster outfits which took them 150 hours to make on display. She will talk about her experience in the competition and demonstrate duct tape projects for participants to make.
Thursday’s “Ductstravaganza” event will follow the Coast360 Beach Games, part of Tacky Jacks Summer of Fun, which is another great activity where kids 6-11 years compete in games for prizes and all participants receive a free lunch. To top it off it is going to be a huge 4th of July weekend so there should be a good crowd of families looking for something fun to do.
