MPD: No evidence in Mobile Infirmary sexual assault

UPDATE: The Mobile Police Department has investigated this allegation to great lengths and have released that they were unable to find evidence to substantiate this incident occurred.

Officials said they believe the reportee did not make the report out of ill will. However, due to the medication, police say, the woman believed the incident occurred. Authorities said no warrants will be signed against her.

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile police are investigating a sexual assault they said happened at Mobile Infirmary.

Officers were called to the hospital on Thursday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Authorities said the victim told them while under the effects of anesthesia, an unknown black male came into her room and sexually assaulted her.

Mobile Infirmary Administrator Kenneth Brewington, M.D., released the following statement:

“We have been made aware of the allegation and are fully cooperating with the Mobile Police Department in its investigation of the matter.”

Police say the allegation is under investigation and more details will be released as it’s available.
