GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) -UPDATE: June 27 5:20 p.m.: According to jail records, the bond for two men accused of raping a 14-year-old girl is set at $250,000 each.
It was early Wednesday morning when Gulf Shores police were called out to Luxury RV Resort off of Highway 59. The call was for a potential sexual assault.
“Once the officers arrived to the call, they located a 14-year-old white, female juvenile who was unconscious,” Cpl. Josh Coleman said.
Gulf Shores police said the men responsible for the crime are Alvion Sampson and John Sanders of Natchez, MS. Police said the men had first met the victim Tuesday night. The victim is also from Mississippi and was in the area camping with friends.
Police said the men took the victim for a ride and got her drunk.
“Once she became intoxicated, they took her out to just east of the Perdido Pass Bridge and that is where the crime occurred: the sexual assault,” Coleman said.
Friends who were camping with victim said she was brought back to the RV park by Sampson.
“Well, I got up and I was asking her if she was ok and she wasn’t talking. She was unconscious, but she was breathing,” a friend of the victim said.
The girl was taken to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center and later taken to USA Children’s and Women’s for treatment.
Friends said she suffered a broken rib and nose and her eye was swollen. They also said she had two bite marks on neck.
As for Sampson and Sanders, they’re both facing charges of first degree rape.
