If you’ve noticed some construction on I-10 between the Daphne and Malbis exits, it’s thanks to the historic flooding back in April.
Aldot officials say they’ve been working to repair a culvert that was damaged during the storm.
Crews have been working on the project for about a month now.
The cost at this point has been $350,000, but officials say the fix right now is only temporary.
More work will likely need to be done in the future to prevent something like this from happening again.
“That’s been turned over to our designers. We’ve got to go through studies and serious design and at this time, I don’t know what that permanent fix is going to look like,” said Brian Aaron with Aldot.
The total cost of a permanent solution should cost around $800,000.
