Blackberry has a new 3.5 inch phone coming out in November called the Blackberry Classic. The company is reportedly in talks with rapper, Drake, to help promote the phone. Blackberry also pre-announced another new phone called the Blackberry Passport. Blackberry users will soon have 240,000 more apps available to their smart phones. The company is partnering with Amazon, and the apps will be made available when the Blackberry 10.3 operating system update is released this fall.
Twitter has announced that it is buying SnappyTV. It’s a service for clipping, editing and sharing clips from live broadcasts. SnappyTV’s clients include Fox, The CW, and Nascar. The new partnership will allow content from broadcasts to be embedded directly in tweets.
And, Amazon has announced that its offering “MayDay” on its new Fire phone. MayDay is a one-tap service that gives access to customer service agents who can talk to phone users through video chat. The agents have the ability to take over the screen to show users exactly how to do something. The service is available 24 hours, and agents respond within 15 seconds. MayDay is free to all owners of the device.
