Lots of people laced up their shoes for a good cause this weekend.
Grace Green’s family hosted a 5-k on the USA campus, to raise money to buy her a service dog.
The 13-year-old is living with fetal alcohol syndrome and bi-polar disorder.
Grace’s mother said seeing all the support was a joy for all involved.
“She laughed and she was giving people thumbs up this morning and it makes them laugh. I mean you are in the zone, you’re running you’re in the zone and when you see a child in a stroller just thumbs up they were just like- and you know smiling at her so sweet and she was so happy.”
Organizers said the service dog costs 14-thousand dollars.
The run won’t cover the whole cost, but it will make huge progress toward the family’s goal.
