Thursday morning at Government Plaza in Mobile served as another reminder it may be a good idea to arrive early if you have to go to court.
One of the four elevators in the courtroom wing of the building was broken.
That led to long lines waiting to get through security and into the three remaining elevators.
County officials have been working for several months to fix broken elevators.
They said back in December they hoped to have some controllers installed in the next few months.
The controllers would have sensors that keep the elevators from moving if there’s too much weight inside.
For now, security personnel have been trying to make sure the elevators don’t get overcrowded.
