Prichard APDFL football team heads to Atlanta for Championship

The Prichard Falcons APDFL football team defeated the Santa Rosa Strykers, 7-6 in the league’s divisional championship on Saturday, June 14, at Prichard Stadium. The Falcons will now travel to Atlanta on June 28, for a chance to win their third championship title.

The Prichard Falcons team consists of former collegiate, arena league and professional football players, who team members say, have come together to promote positive community awareness within the city of Prichard.

“We don’t have a lot of help due to our team being based out of Prichard, Ala. Our owner, Rico Ruffin mostly foots the bill for the team year in and year out. We are nationally ranked in the top 5 and we are a very positive and successful organization that represents the city of Prichard. With a little exposure, I think this can be huge for the city.” – Prichard Falcons team member.

The Falcons travel and compete against teams spanning from Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, and South Carolina.

In its fourth season, the Falcons team finished 13-0 with an overall record of 47-3. Try outs for the 2015 team will be held in December 2014.
