Gas prices on rise; travelers feeling pain at pump

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – With summer nearly upon those nationwide, many living on the Gulf Coast are feeling the pain at the pump.

The national average, according to AAA is $3.61. Tension in Iraq following ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) success last week, has caused the price of gas to increase. Iraq ranks sixth in the world in top oil exports. Folks living in Mobile can see it when they open their pocketbook.

“I paid $75 and I still didn’t fill it up. I wish they would lower the prices,” said one driver.

I only put $20 in. It don’t get me no where. It’ll be gone today. That’s it. It’s bad…it’s bad,” said Lauren Creel of Mobile.

“I’ll probably put about $70 in right now. I spend probably $300 a week in fuel,” said Heath, a farmer.
