Celebrity softball honors The Bolling Brothers

The Mobile BayBears hosted Bolling Brothers Day at Hank Aaron Stadium Saturday, June 14.

The event was dedicated to remembering and honoring Milt and Frank Bolling and their contributions to Major League Baseball and the Mobile community.

The Bollings were born and raised in Mobile, AL and both attended McGill-Toolen High School and Springhill College before going on to play in the majors during the 50’s and 60’s. Milt played seven years in “the show,” mostly for the Boston Red Sox. Frank played twelve years for the Tigers and Braves. Memorabilia from the careers of Milt and Frank was on display in the Bolling Brothers Suite which was open to all fans during the BayBears game.

The festivities began with a celebrity softball game at 4:30pm featuring many local radio and TV personalities like Fox10 News Anchor Lenise Ligon and Studio10 Anchor Joe Emer.

The guests of honor included Mr. Frank Bolling and Mrs. Milt Bolling, Joanne. Included in the event was a remembrance for Milt Bolling who passed away in January 2013.
