A marine who graduated from Daphne High School got a surprise welcome home party at Mobile Regional Airport Sunday, June 14.
Lance Corporal Clay Myers was deployed in the Middle East with the Marine Corps for seven months. To celebrate his homecoming, family and friends decided to surprise him.
“This is a total surprise. He expects a few friends but he doesn’t expect a party,” said LCpl. Clay’s mother, Pam Myers.
Clay’s grandfather said he was afraid for Clay and worried about him. He said he’s glad his grandson is safe and he’s proud of Clay.
“I’ve missed him a lot, he is my best friend and I absolutely love him,” said Clay’s sister, Lacey Myers “I can’t wait to have him home and actually spend quality time together.”
When Clay finally got off the plane, he was greeted with signs, flags and cheers from his family.
“I’ve always loved family and friends being here so it was really hard to be gone for a while,” Clay said.
