Donations wanted for benefit yard sale

If you have some extra items lying around your home, there’s an opportunity to donate for a good cause.

Donations are being collected for a yard sale, art sale and breakfast event to help raise money for two-year old Madison Alford who’s battling a rare brain cancer.

Madison was first diagnosed with Etaner in January 2014. She was transferred to St Jude’s hospital in Memphis and is still undergoing treatment.

Her parents, Matthew and Jessi, travel back and forth from Mobile to Memphis.

“As you can imagine, they have left their home and family business so they can be with her during this difficult time,” said family friend, Felricia Brown.

To help with the cost of treatment, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Student Center is hosting a yard sale, art sale and breakfast event Saturday, June 21 from 7a.m.-Noon.

Donation drop off

Donations can be dropped off at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Student Center 6051 Old where Matt and Jessi are parishioners.

Items accepted include artwork, furniture, art supplies, electronics, religious items, school supplies, beauty products, shoes and Clothes (In good condition, please), baby items (except car seats and cribs), kitchen supplies and appliances, home decor and Improvement items
