Changes are coming overnight Thursday for the FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
They have been helping flood victims following the heavy rains in April.
The centers will transition to Small Business Administration, or SBA, Disaster Loan Outreach Centers, beginning at 9:00 Friday morning.
But, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get personal help from FEMA.
Tom Nocera with the SBA Disaster Assistance Office said, “There’s a transition that’s taking place tonight. Tomorrow morning, at 9:00, when the center opens, its going to be an SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center. FEMA will still have a presence at the Disaster Loan Outreach Centers, however, it will be a scaled back presence. SBA will be the lead agency, and we’ll be closing loans there.”
Flood victims should contact FEMA online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
But, the deadline to register for that disaster assistance and apply for SBA disaster loans is July 1.
