The Pride of Mobile Chorus is an all-male barbershop chorus consisting of approximately 25 men. We were chartered on May 17, 1952 as the Mobile Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. As such, we are part of one of the largest non-profit groups in America with over 31,000 members. It is the only men’s chorus of this type in the Mobile area.

The chorus is devoted to singing America’s unique barbershop style of music that originated in the late 1800’s when for entertainment, men congregated in barber shops or on street corners to sing in close harmony. Its repertoire includes the classic songs of the early 1900’s as well as many modern compositions. From patriotic numbers and religious songs, to love songs, up-tunes and ballads, its repertoire is sure to include something to please any ear.

Named after the Pride of Mobile Azalea Flower, the chorus performs for many civic and charitable functions throughout the Azalea City (Mobile) area. Its principal financial support is through annual dues, annual shows, paid performances and donations. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, donations supporting the art are gladly appreciated.
