MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A man who authorities say cut out part of his own tongue when a murder investigation turned to him has pleaded guilty to the murder charge.
Michael Crocker was accused of killing Stephen Perret in 2007.
Deputies said Perret found out Crocker was stealing money from the company from which they worked and that, they believe, was Crocker’s motive. Crocker wasn’t arrested and charged with the murder until 2011.
Crocker and his wife, Donna, were arrested for tax evasion in 2011. They both pleaded guilty to willful failure to pay taxes.
